88.9% of Normal Academic (NA) students were eligible for promotion to Secondary 5 Normal Academic

All 6 (100%) qualified for Junior College, Polytechnic and ITE
Primary 3 student, Mexx Han Kai Xuan’s entry on “My Life, 50 Years Later” was selected as one of 37 winning entries for the 2014 Tales of ‘S’ eBook competition
Organised by Civica, Pathlight School’s Library service provider, the competition received entries from 544 students from mainstream Primary & Secondary Schools as well as Junior Colleges nationwide
Mexx’s essay was published in the ebook along with the other 36 winning entries
Glenn Phua is 1 of 58 Singaporeans featured in the SG50 Book ‘Living the Singapore Story’
The book is a patchwork of personal anecdotes about Singaporeans from all walks of life to form the Singapore Story
Titled “My Son, award-winning Pathlight artist”, Glenn’s father shared his account of how his son’s artistic talent was discovered and nurtured
The book was commissioned by the National Library Board and produced by The Straits Times Press
It was launched by President Tony Tan at the National Library
Pathlight Alumnus Daniel Kwa did the school proud, he was awarded Medal For Outstanding Graduate in NITEC In Electronics (Instrumentation)
He was also nominated for Lee Kuan Yew Model Student Award 2015
Pathlight School was awarded the Gold Award by Singapore Kindness Movement for its work in promoting kindness among students
The Gold Award is given to the top 5% of participating schools
Pathlight School’s 7 Kindness Ambassadors received the Gold Award on behalf of the school
Pathlight School’s Creative Building Programme received the MOE-NCSS Innovative Award in recognition of its innovation in enhancing student learning through the use of ICT tools and Lego Education resources
The programme, created by the IT & Design Academy, is part of Pathlight School’s IT curriculum, and is implemented for all Primary School, Vocational Track and Secondary 1 students
It harnesses students’ interest and strengths in Information Technology and Design-related fields and enables students to use technology and Lego Education resources creatively and meaningfully
Students express their unique thoughts and ideas on a variety of topics through their own multimedia creations thereby stretching their imagination and creativity as well as improving their sequential and critical thinking skills
34 students, representing 13 teams, from Pathlight Robotics Club took part in their first national robotics competition – The World Robo Tournament 2014
More than 100 teams from schools all over Singapore competed in the event
Pathlighters did the school proud by winning 2 awards in the DragRacz event - 1st Runner-Up (Division 1) and Most Innovative Award
The DragRacz event required the teams to have their robots move swiftly and accurately in designated lanes, and the fastest robot wins the race
Student enrolment continues to grow; an increase of 11% to current student population of 1001

Project One – a student-centric model - was implemented in January 2015
Project One focuses on developing students in 5 areas:
Students will be exposed to various learning elements and activities planned around the 5 areas
The aim is to develop each student holistically to his/her full potential and make Pathlight School the ‘best school ever’ for the students
15 Senior Level students from Vocational Track went on their first Overseas Learning Trip
The team led by Pathlight School Vice-Principal, Ms Loy Sheau Mei, and accompanied by class coaches and therapists visited Perth, Australia
This learning trip served as an opportunity to expose students to a different culture, and also allowed them to experience independent living in a foreign country away from the comfort of their home
Harvard University’s all male jazz a cappella group, Harvard Din & Tonics (or affectionately ‘The Dins’), performed during their visit to Pathlight School
They also interacted with students and modelled values of ‘Contribution to Others’ by using their singing talent to raise funds for Autism Resource Centre
The Dins shared that their visit to Pathlight School was one of the most meaningful and memorable moments in their world tour
Percussionists from Pathlight Music Ensemble and Performing Arts performed together with Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) in the ‘Dream Beyond’ Concert
“Dream Beyond” concert was part of Deutsche Bank’s ‘Born to Be’ community programme that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs fulfill their potential through music
The students wowed all with their precise and rousing performance, bringing the audience to their feet in a standing ovation at the Singapore Concert Hall
